iPLATO nominated for prestigious European innovation award

Independent experts from Euro-CASE have evaluated and ranked the proposals for the European IST Prize (EISTP) and proposed 66 “Nominees for the EISTP” to the European Commission. iPLATO, the mobile healthcare applications specialist, has been nominated for its flagship product – Patient Care Messaging. The European Information Society Technologies Prize is the most distinguished award for groundbreaking products that represent the best of European innovation.
The proposals were evaluated by independent experts from 16 European countries, nominated by Euro-CASE and agreed by the European Commission. The European IST Prize has become the reference in European ICT innovation, and the Prize scheme is now well known and coveted in the 33 countries to which it is open. The success is due to the independent, highly competent evaluation, to the public recognition and promotion of the winning products, and to the quality of the Winners. The EISTP Nominees have successfully gone through the thorough, highly competitive evaluation procedure resulting in the quality label "Nominee for the European IST Prize”. The EISTP Nominees receive valuable public visibility and media coverage. The European IST Prize Awards Ceremony will take place on 23 March 2006 at the Austrian Academy of Sciences in Vienna where the European Commission will select up to 20 EISTP Winners and up to 3 Grand Prize Winners. Over the past ten years Euro-CASE has received 3,140 applications from 33 countries and awarded 30 Grand Prize Winners from 12 countries.
