Vonage plan to launch their broadband phone service in the UK on 28 December 2004.
Anyone with a broadband connection will be able to signup for the service. VoIP ( Voice over Internet Protocol) is the new way to make and receive phone calls. VoIP translates your phone calls into data that transmit through your high-speed Internet connection.
You just make calls as normal, by picking up the phone and dialling, and receive them the same way. The person you're calling doesn't need to have VoIP or an Internet connection on their side.
