The handset offers an impressive array of advanced technology including features such as a full QWERTY keyboard, all of which are contained within an impressively stylish body. The phone utilises the ARM Cortex A8 600 MHz processor in conjunction with the Maemo 5 operating system.





The handset offers multiple connections including GPRS and EDGE connections in conjunction with blue tooth and micro-USB as well as an infrared port. Web access is offered via its HSPDA and Wi Fi connections with speeds of up to 10 Mbps provided. Satellite navigation is provided by the GPS function which includes Ovi maps and comes with A-GPS support. The handset offers one of the most impressive display screens available on the mobile phone market. The display screen is a 3.5 inch TFT touch screen which offers excellent colour reproduction. The inclusion of both accelerometer and proximity sensors ensures automation of certain tasks. One of the central elements of the handset is the full QWERTY keyboard, which is both effective and simple to use.





The Nokia N900 includes a 5.0 megapixel camera, which benefits from the inclusion of Carl Zeiss optics. To aid photo taking, the camera provides auto focus, geo-tagging and a dual LED flash as well as a photo editor, which provides the means to edit imagery whilst on the move. Video capture at WVGA quality and at 25 frames per second is available via the camera, whilst the inclusion of a video light ensures efficient illumination. The addition of a secondary camera enables the user to take VGA quality video in addition to the main camera. For additional entertainment, the handset provides an MP4/MP3 media player as well as a stereo FM radio, which comes with an FM transmitter. The inclusion of several games in addition to the Skype feature, which offers free and cheap phone calls, is supplemented by the inclusion of Google talk VoIP integration.
