The Alcatel 303 provides a viable and useful handset

Pressbox (Press Release) - The Alcatel 303 is a simplistic handset which aims to offer a user-friendly handset with minimal complexity. It offers limited functionality, meaning that it can be utilised by anyone, although generally this type of handset will be a second or replacement style handset. The handset measures 107 mm x 46 km wide and is 12 mm thick, whilst only being 66 g in weight.





The Alcatel 303 red comes with both vibration and ring alert options, and can utilise polyphonic ringtones. The inclusion of a speakerphone, which provides hands free communication, is a useful addition. The handsets phonebook can retain up to 800 contacts, whilst the last 20 dialled, received and missed calls are retained by the call records, which can be accessed as and when required.





The handset comes with a 1.8 inch CSTN display screen which operates within the confines of a screen pixel size of 128 x 160 pixels within which it is able to display 65,000 colours. The keypad is a simple affair, offering responsive and simplistic text and data entry whilst the inclusion of a multi-way navigation button provides the means to navigate around the functions and features.





The handset comes with an FM radio with RDS capability and several games for entertainment purposes. The inclusion of a useful organiser offers the means to record and retain pertinent details and appointments. The handset offers a class 10 version of GPRS as its primary means of connectivity, in conjunction with miniUSB. The usual suspects of SMS, MMS and a WAP 2.0 browser are also provided.





The phone comes with a VGA camera which operates at a 640 x 480 pixel resolution and takes effective snapshot style imagery. The phones 2 MB of internal memory is suitable for the supplied functionality.





The Red Alcatel 303 is the latest colour variant which enhances the existing colour range of titanium grey and turquoise. The handset offers up to 300 hours of standby time with a talk time of up to 9 hours. It is a useful and simple handset offering the basic requirements of a mobile phone.
