Added: (Thu Jul 21 2005)

Herzelia, Israel – July 19, 2005, Telmap (www.telmap.com) announced today that it has teamed with Cellcom Israel Ltd., the largest cellular operator in Israel to bring the Cellcom Navigator, a new branded GPS navigation service for mobile phones. This service is based on Polaris™, Telmap’s advanced mapping and navigation technology and powered by Telmap’s mapping and location Geo-engine platform, Andromeda™.

Cellcom Navigator turns mobile phones into a hand held mobile navigation and information guide, used for both in-car and pedestrian navigation. Users can plan a route and navigate by means of voice and maneuver map instructions that accurately guide the driver throughout the journey. The application features map of the destination and route instructions as a series of maneuver maps and an itinerary list. In addition, users can receive information about endless Points of Interest (POI), such as restaurants, theaters, gas stations, and recreation sites in the area and share locations with friends using SMS. From now on, Cellcom users can easily find their way around locally and abroad without ever getting lost.

Telmap’s business has expanded dramatically over the past few months, bringing to market numerous successful launches in a short period of time. "Value added services such as mobile navigation is now a major priority for network operators” says Telmap CEO, Oren Nissim. "Telmap is able to answer those needs by combining market success for the operators with highly advanced technology and a true navigation experience for the end user.”.

“Cellcom views the mobile navigation service as an important tool for both business customers, saving them time and improving work efficiency, and for private customers wanting to reach their destinations easily and conveniently.” Says Yossi Lubaton, Cellcom VP marketing.

Cellcom will initially launch the service on Nokia 6630 and Sony Ericsson P910 handsets. The basic subscription includes navigation service in Israel with an option for travelers to subscribe for coverage in Western Europe or North America on a roaming basis. The service is already available for sale in all the Cellcom sales points across the country.
