News: Belgium's Proximus selects Logica's messaging solution

Pressbox (Press Release) - Logica today announced a contract with leading Belgian mobile operator Proximus Belgacom Mobile, , for the extension of its Short Messaging Service Centre, Telepath SMSC and the introduction of its Messaging Application Router (MAR). The innovative solution will enable enhanced services and increased messaging capacity across the network.

The implementation of the Telepath SMSC version 2700 on the Proximus network will offer a highly robust, feature-rich platform that could be increased to 3,000 messages/sec. Logica’s SMSC will provide the world’s most advanced short messaging services platform and position Proximus to take advantage of new developments in the marketplace such as GPRS and UMTS.

Proximus, a subsidiary of Belgacom and Vodafone, will also take delivery of Logica’s MAR, which will allow the operator to manage and route third-party application traffic more efficiently.
