Network Security Concerns Behind KeyDetect Development

Pressbox (Press Release) - Objectronix brings KeyDetect - its network security device - to market to satisfy customer and channel needs

Managed security specialists, Objectronix have launched KeyDetect - its network based Intrusion Detection System (IDS), which will form an integral part of its flexible outsourced security management service to its channel partners.

Fully managed externally by Objectronix, KeyDetect `listens` to a network to compare traffic to a signature database of recorded network usage which it constantly updates in real-time. When any anomalies occur outside of the developed pattern such as malicious commands, repeated failed login attempts or traffic peaking at odd hours, KeyDetect raises an alarm which is immediately investigated by Objectronix staff.

When combined with the internetworking capabilities with Cisco Pix, Netscreen or Check point Firewall-1, Objectronix can offer a single cohesive managed security solution through KeyDetect, “ Sellors concluded.

Aware of the channel’s needs, Objectronix will offer maximum flexibility in the sale options of KeyDetect. It will be available branded either as Objectronix
hardware or by the channel partner as their own, and/or the fully managed service can be branded by Objectronix or as the partner’s own management service.

Delivered with an extensive up-to-date library of signatures, KeyDetect updates the signature files at up to hourly intervals and makes the need for patches and manual updating redundant.

Operated via a secure VPN link with its own firewall, KeyDetect is also unobtrusive to the user as it does not affect the speed of traffic passing across the company network and Objectronix staff do not require access to any of the company’s critical systems.
