Mobile phones are too complicated

Added: (Wed Oct 31 2007)

There are many feature-packed mobile phones on the market today. But instead of helping with communication, they are leaving many people isolated.

The high street stores would have you believe that most people choose a mobile phone by its megapixels, its Bluetooth connectivity or its ‘gigs’ of music storage. Believe it or not, many people want a mobile phone to simply stay in touch.

With one in six of the UK population over 65 years old, there is a dreadful lack of mobile handsets on the market that cater for this age group.

The BigFone has been launched by Keytools to offer older people a phone that they can actually use. The BigFone has big buttons, a large display and an extra loud ring. There’s no unnecessary gadgets - it keeps things simple.

And for peace of mind, an added safety feature is a large red button that can be used to call up to five different people in a moment of need.

To make the BigFone as easy to use as possible, Keytools have taken care of the usual troublesome details, including:

- Pre-loading a SIM card with £6 of credit
- Supplying a docking cradle, so you have a place to keep your phone, with easy charging.
- Providing a neck cord to ensure that you can take the phone wherever you go.
