Logica and Orange launch Multimedia Messaging trial
Logica, the global solutions company and leading supplier of mobile messaging and payments together with Orange, the UK’s most popular mobile phone service, have announced a live trial implementation of Multimedia Messaging Service (MMS).
This exciting development over Orange UK’s GPRS network-which is based on Logica’s innovative Multimedia Messaging Service Centre -enables the delivery of mobile messages containing audio, pictures, animation and real-time video streaming. The trial is the first step towards full carrier-class implementation and represents a major step forward in the evolution of MMS.
Orange UK will use the trial to develop and test a range of MMS services and to evaluate expected market take up and profitability, giving them a clear competitive edge in the market place.
Logica, which is recognised as the global leader in messaging innovation and development, also presented the world’s first live Multimedia Messaging demonstration recently at a conference in Rome.
