Pressbox (Press Release) -
Clickatell announced today that it has appointed Geoff Hainebach (ex CEO of Siemens Telecoms SA and ex MD of Siemens SA) as chairman to its board of directors. This announcement was made as Clickatell enters the second phase of their business model, focused on the global market in the provision of turnkey wireless communications solutions to corporate customers.

Hainebach is well respected in business and technology circles and is a visionary in the IT and mobile industries. He currently chairs CITI (Cape IT Initiative), VAS Tech, Bandwidth Barn as well as other IT-related organisations. He was also the Managing Director of SAMES and TUV Rheinland (SA).

“SMS messaging is currently one of the most popular value added services on mobile networks. Clickatell empowers corporate users by giving them full control over the use of this service, enabling effective communication with customers, business partners and employees,” Hainebach said. “Clickatell effectively turned complex technology into very clever, but user-friendly business communication and marketing tools. They have designed their products to be implemented with ease by any user, taking the effort, time and cost spent on wireless enablement out of the equation for the client, and giving a global audience the most extensive reach in mobile communications that currently exists.”

Says Pieter de Villiers, Managing Director of Clickatell, “Geoff Hainebach was an obvious choice for Clickatell and we are privileged to have someone of his caliber join our team. Rein van Veen and Daneel van der Walt have also been appointed as directors, adding financial experience to the company.
