Pressbox (Press Release) - The Sonim XP2.10 Spirit has the looks of a durable handset and it doesn't disappoint. The unit is resistant in many ways and against many climatic conditions, making it an ideal companion for those who require a sturdy yet functional mobile phone that can handle rugged conditions. The handset is compact at only 131 mm x 60 mm wide whilst being 22 mm thick. The unit weighs 182 g in weight, which makes it a heavyweight in more ways than one.





The Sonim XP2.10 Spirit comes with a 1.9 inch TFT display screen which includes a scratch resistant face to ensure continued visibility. Effective colour representation is provided by means of the screens 65,000 colour display capabilities which operates within a pixel screen size of 240 x 320 pixels. Alert types available include both ring and vibration options and provides the means to utilise polyphonic, MP3 or WAV media files as ringtones. The handset includes a speakerphone, which is water resistant whilst the available 2.5 mm audio jack offers the means to plug in a set of headphones. The phone book retains up to 1000 contacts in addition to the call record facility which offers the ability to review dialled, missed and received call information as when desired.





The handsets certifications and resistance features are the making of this particular handset. The phones IP67 certification ensures dust and water resistance as well as the ability to withstand immersion in 1 m of water for a period of 30 minutes. The MIL-STD 810 F compliance that the phone comes with, relates to a variety of factors such as salt, fog, humidity and thermal shock in addition to transport shock resistance. One of the key features is the handsets ability to withstand a drop on to concrete from a height of up to 2 m and continue to function normally.





Connectivity comes in the form of GPRS and EDGE, both of which are class 10 in addition to 3G connectivity as well as Blue tooth and micro-USB connections. An integrated microSD card slot is provided as standard. The handset comes with an internal memory of 50 MB, which is sufficient for most needs.





The phone offers an FM radio, several games and a 3.15 mega pixel camera. The camera is an effective snapshot style camera that provides an LED flash for illumination purposes. As an alternative to static imagery, the camera also provides video capture at QCIF quality and at 15 frames per second.





The Sonim XP2 Spirit also includes a flashlight, organiser, voice memo and stopwatch function. The aim of this particular unit is durability as well as continued functionality in adverse conditions. It is a handset that is aimed at a particular market, and services that particular market well.
