Transport Modelling Forum 2008

Added: (Wed May 07 2008)

This year the third annual Transport Modelling Forum has had a change of format! On Thursday 18th June at the ThinkTank, Birmingham a highly respective team of speakers will come together at this exciting event to talk about ‘Realism and Managing Uncertainty’.

The first session of the day is chaired by Ian Emslie from Legion. Stephen Joseph from Campaign for Better Transport, Derek Halden from Derek Halden Consultancy and Alan Kerr from London Underground all talk about the uncertainty in forecasting. The second session sees SKM, Mott MacDonald, WSP and the Highways Agency present case studies of how they dealt with realism and managing uncertainty. The final session is where you, the delegate, can influence the programme in ‘Modellers Question Time’.

The format will be 5 presentations in which each vendor can respond and illustrate how users could apply their software to support decision-making in the context set. They will have 15 minutes to answer the best question sent to us which we in turn will have sent to them 3 weeks in advance thus enabling them to prepare their answer. The vendors taking part are PTV Vision, Peter Davidson Consultancy, INRO, Omnitrans and Citilabs who will also answer questions from the floor. You can submit your question to abbie.rees@landor.co.uk.

Once you have registered for the conference you will automatically be given complimentary access to the exhibition running along side and will also be invited to a drinks reception at the end of the day. This premier networking environment is an excellent opportunity to mix with speakers, sponsors, exhibitors and other delegates within the industry.

If you register by the 22nd May 2008 you will qualify for the early bird discount rate, either fax the enclosed booking form back to us or register online at www.landorconferences.co.uk. You can also get more information from the Transport Modelling Forum website (www.transportmodelling.co.uk) which will soon have the full speaker biographies added to it!
