Added: (Tue May 17 2011)

Pressbox (Press Release) - GS1 UK, part of the global e-business supply chain EDI standards association with Member Organisations in over 100 countries, has certified Transalis OpenEDI Cloud Managed Service Solutions.

London, United Kingdom — May 17, 2011 — Transalis, the leading provider of global OpenEDI and freeVAN EDI solutions, today announced that its OpenEDI offering has become the first GS1 UK certified solution.

Transalis has become the first GS1 UK EDI Accredited Solution Partner to achieve solution certification in the GS1 UK order-to-cash EDI solution category, which recognises that Transalis OpenEDI SaaS Cloud Managed Service solutions correctly use the relevant GS1 standards. OpenEDI Managed Services are Transalis’ range of SaaS and Cloud B2B e-commerce outsourcing services, including B2B messaging services, trading partner on boarding, community management, mapping, testing and monitoring.

By achieving the first GS1 order-to-cash EDI Certified Solution, Transalis has demonstrated its commitment to developing and deploying its OpenEDI solutions to fully implement the GS1 System. This means businesses that need an EDI solution can differentiate Transalis OpenEDI as a GS1 UK Certified Solution from other non-certified solutions in the market.

“As Accredited Solution Partners, Transalis have a demonstrable knowledge and understanding of GS1 standards. Their additional Certification makes Transalis attractive to users with a requirement to deploy a GS1 based order-to-cash solution”, said Steve Watson GS1 UK Partner Development.

Aniello Sabatino, Joint Managing Director, Transalis said “Transalis is 100% committed to working closely with GS1 member organisations and to helping GS1 implement its EDI standards to improve EDI for all retailers and their suppliers".

The recent GS1 UK report with the Cranfield School of Management revealed that the UK retail grocery industry saves £650 million a year by using EDI for electronic ordering and invoicing. A further £200 million a year could be saved if despatch advices or ASNs (Advanced Shipping Notices) were more widely used by more retailers.

Transalis solutions integrate multiple EDI documents and standards between multiple networks, systems and trading partners necessary to maintain complex B2B e-commerce programs.
