Teseq’s New Impedance Stabilization Network Compatible with High-Speed, Category 6 Ethernet Cables

Added: (Tue Feb 05 2008)

EDISON, N.J. January 31, 2008 – Teseq Inc., a leading developer and provider of instrumentation and test systems for EMC emission and immunity, has introduced a new impendence stabilization network (ISN) that is compatible with the highest speed class of Ethernet cables, Category 6. The ISN T8-Cat6 is designed for measurements on up to four unshielded single balanced pairs of cables, which offers increased flexibility and requires the user to purchase less hardware.

The CISPR 22-based coupling/decoupling network is ideal for use with applications employing up to 1000BaseT operation, Power over Ethernet (PoE) and immunity tests of office, telecom and networking equipment according to IEC 61000-4-6.

The ISN is located between the EUT and the auxiliary equipment (AE) or load, which is necessary for the operation of the EUT. The network establishes the common mode termination impedance seen by the telecommunication port during measurement.
Consisting of one basic network, the ISN T8-Cat6, the ISN features RJ-45 connectors for the EUT and AE. No other adapters are required for meeting the longitudinal loss requirements.

The ISN features maximum line to ground voltages of 63 VAC and 100 VDC, and maximum current ratings of 400 mA per line and 800 mA per pair. The ISN T8-Cat6 offers a coupling path connection of BNC 50 W and an RF voltage of <15 V as well as
a 0° ± 20° phase angle. Measuring 105 x 65 x 110 mm3, the network features a weight of approximately 550 g.

The ISN T8-Cat6 is defined in CISPR 22, Ed.5.2, 2006 and EN55022 Sept. 2006 (IEC/CISPR 22: 2005 modified) for Cat.6.

Pricing for the ISN T8-Cat6 starts at $3,100. Lead-time is approximately 4-8 weeks ARO.

Teseq will continue to offer the ISN T8 with LCL adapters for cat.3 and cat.5 cables.
