INDUSTRY LEADERS TO ASSEMBLE AT SECOND ANNUAL SOFTWARE DEFINED RADIO EXPOSITION AND CONFERENCE, JUNE 11-14, 2001 IN NEW YORK

Major Wireless Companies and Regulatory Bodies To Discuss The Evolution of Software Defined Radio Technology For The Commercial Wireless and Military Sectors

WHAT: The Software Defined Radio (SDR) Forum will host its Second Annual Software Defined Radio Exposition and Conference, June 11-14, 2001 at the Holiday Inn Martinique Hotel in New York.

Conference. The conference will feature a series of presentations from key wireless industry experts on SDR in the military and civil government, and commercial wireless sectors. Presenters will provide attendees with insight on the latest developments in software defined radio, and the role that the technology will play in enabling wireless Internet and advanced wireless services. Presentations will also focus on current and future capabilities of SDR technology and changing business models, as well as an update on the progress of key standards and regulatory aspects that are enabling the deployment of SDR technology for wireless systems worldwide.

Exposition. The exposition, which includes exhibits from technology developers, suppliers and product manufacturers, will showcase the various applications that software defined radios will enable in both the commercial and non-commercial markets.

WHO: The SDR Forum is an international industry association dedicated to supporting the development and deployment of software defined radio systems that enable flexible and adaptable architectures in advanced wireless systems. The membership of the SDR Forum spans commercial, defense, and civil government organizations, and includes wireless service providers, network operators, component and equipment manufacturers, hardware and software developers, regulatory agencies, and academia. Presently numbering more than 110 organizations, the SDR Forum’s membership includes major commercial wireless players from Asia, Europe, and North America.

The Software Defined Radio Exposition and Conference is open to the industry, and membership in the Forum is not required to attend.
