Seeing is Believing

A new visual web browser, www.buzzlondon.com, has been developed that promotes the visibility of London's exhibitions and locations through virtual visits. The new technology also provides users with all the services they need when planning visits, especially to Greater London events such as the Marathon or London Flower Show.
Exposure is increased by linking exhibition web sites to their BuzzLondon portal – to create a dynamic pre-visit virtual experience combined with rich local information. Promoting sites in this way increases exposure and added ‘stickiness’ – leading ultimately to more visitors.
A virtual visit to a real world location or event, for instance Covent Garden, is a fascinating experience for browsers. Street jugglers can be accessed live. Advertising and sponsorship can be location and time related.
The new company aims to encourage continual visitor interest and usage in a combination of ways including web cams, 360 degree virtual views; enabling the memory to linger on, with archiving. Externally providing a high quality place finder alongside interactive aerial and street level imagery and internally, offering users the opportunity to link to exhibitors’ own sites directly from floorplan level. In addition, BuzzLondon provides a wealth of affiliated and reciprocal local information, from detailed locational directions to on-line booking of appointments with exhibitors.
local5media provides technology and on-line content for virtual visits to any location on the web, interactive digital television, WAP, Internet or via digital print technology. Formed as a joint venture between Intergraph, iwantinfo Ltd and MVA Ltd in July 2000, the company has already created a major portal access site for London and can rapidly scale its technology for UK coverage.
