SIMSTREET.COM ANNOUNCES LAUNCH OF SIMPLE ALTERNATIVE TO FACEBOOK DEVELOPER API

Added: (Tue Feb 05 2008)

SimStreet.com, the Social Network, has announced the launch of a new service that provides organisations who would like to engage in Web 2.0, with a simple alternative to the more advanced developer APIs provided by platforms such as Facebook. SimStreet Networks (http://www.simstreet.com/networks.jsp) have been designed to allow brands to easily integrate their media into the SimStreet platform, and immediately establish a social networking presence.

Monika Chehovskaya, Head of Communications for Sim Systems explains; “We feel that there are some brands who would like to achieve breakthrough and engagement by using multi-dimensional social media, but who do not want to commit the time and resources required to successfully launch a third party developer application. SimStreet Networks provide a simple alternative, by allowing brands to easily integrate their content into each page that their member’s access while logged in to the site. This content can either be hosted on the SimStreet server, or the brands own web server, providing the Network owner with complete control over the advertising and media that’s displayed.

In addition to empowering the Network owner with full control over advertising and branding, SimStreet Networks are comprised of a range of services that are designed to enhance the brand’s interaction with their consumers. At the core of each Network, is the ‘Network Home Page’. This contains chat forum’s, RSS news feeds, embedded videos, comment walls, mp3’s and picture galleries, all of which can be added and removed using a simple set of tools and wizards. The Network owner also has the ability to undertake bulk email broadcasts to the Network members, and moderate the content that’s posted to the chat forums and comment walls.

Monika Chehovskaya added; “Of course a key consideration to any brand wishing to actively engage in social networking, is ensuring that negative user-generated-content doesn’t become associated with the brand. SimStreet Networks overcome this in two ways; firstly the user ‘opts-in’ to the Network, which means that it’s unlikely that an undesirable individual, for example from a far right political group, will be motivated to join the Network in the first place. Secondly, all of the content that’s posted to the chat forums and comment walls can be either pre-moderated, or, easily removed if something distasteful is indeed posted.

SimStreet Networks are free to create and run, and the brand retains 100% of the revenue generated from advertising on the Network. Sim Systems provide design and consultancy services to assist brands who wish to develop a presence on the SimStreet platform.
