UK-based online DVD rental company, LoveFilm International Ltd, has chosen Poole-based IT solution provider Codestone to implement SAP Business One today.
Originally part of the Arts Alliance Group, LoveFilm has now merged with Video Island to form new company ScreenSelect.co.uk. As an independent business, LoveFilm needed to source a new Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) solution.
LoveFilm had previously used SAP Business One within a group environment, and was familiar with the software’s benefits. Therefore, it was the obvious choice for implementation, with the added benefit that the existing SAP Business One database could be easily relocated.
Managing Director of Codestone, Jeremy Bucknell explains “With SAP Business One, LoveFilm will be able to have up-to-the-minute information about their accounts, banking, sales and management, from which they can create reports and monitor business activity, knowing that all the information is accurate and not yesterday’s news.”
Once implemented in the UK, LoveFilm will work with Codestone to roll out SAP Business One to its Nordic counterparts. SAP Business One is ideal for businesses based in several overseas locations, as it allows the data entered in one country to be displayed elsewhere in the local currency, making the exchange of financial information between the international offices straightforward.
Additionally, LoveFilm intends to integrate SAP Business One with its existing bespoke stock/billing system and credit card system, which will allow accurate monitoring of stock activity; such as the availability of titles, where the DVDs have gone and how long stock has been out of circulation.
