Lemaitre Sécurité’s HELIUM shoes afford stylish protection
Added: (Tue Feb 28 2006)
Lemaitre Sécurité of France, a manufacturer of safety footwear, has launched HELIUM – a protective shoe for use in industry. HELIUM is designed for professionals in the electronics, electrical, logistics and transport, and automotive sub-contracting industries, as well as those working in airports, white rooms and inspection zones in the manufacturing industry. The shoes are exceptionally light and comfortable, while at the same time complying with all requirements for quality and safety.
The HELIUM range is available in a shoe version – HABOOB S3 – and an ankle-boot version – HURRICANE S3, which supports and protects the ankles and the Achilles tendon (EN ISO 20345 S2/S3 standard). HELIUM is made of water-resistant full-grain leather, which is both soft and hard-wearing, and is lined with Cambrelle® for greater comfort. This 100% polyamide lining transfers moisture from the skin to the exterior and is highly resistant to abrasion. It absorbs perspiration while keeping the foot dry. There is also a version available lined with a Gore-Tex® sock – HEGOA S3.
The HELIUM range offers a sporty and stylish design with non-metallic lace fasteners and a synthetic TPM protective toecap, which is both light and resistant against the risk of damages to toes (200 joules – EN ISO 20345). The toecap, which is non-metallic and contains no fibreglass, is lighter and more elastic than a composite or steel toecap and will not split or break in case of impact.
HELIUM also comes with an anti-perforation insert made of para-aramid fibres, which is light, flexible, stable and resistant to perforation over 100% of the surface of the sole (EN ISO 20344). As with the TPM toecap, it is non-conductive of heat and cold and is therefore particularly suitable for people working outdoors.
An anti-slip concave sole with a curved Parabolic® profile (an exclusive patent of Lemaitre Sécurité) and a double-density insert under the heel give an excellent grip on all industrial floor surfaces. Moreover, energy is released after the compression phase of walking, giving a dynamic, spring-like effect. Finally, a properly projecting heel ensures extra safety in hazardous situations (cluttered or irregular floors, ladders, etc.).
HELIUM shoes are fully non-metallic and non-magnetic and are therefore impervious to thermal variations and transfers from -10°C to +40°C. They are undetectable by security scanners. They are also resistant to hydrocarbons and acids (EN ISO 20345).
