Laskys updates customers with RSS feeds

Pressbox (Press Release) - October 2007 – Laskys.com, the Internet consumer electronics retailer, has furthered its onsite customer interactivity. Visitors to the site can now be kept up to date with the latest products and top deals with RSS (Really Simple Syndication) feeds. Laskys had previously introduced interactive polls and quizzes to its website.

Managing Director, Ryan Thomas, was very pleased with the launch of the new functionality, saying, “This is not just a big step for us as an organisation, but a big step for the industry as a whole. We’re fully aware that customers would like to be kept up to date on new product releases and new deals that we’re offering, and this gives us another way of communicating with them”.

The RSS feeds can be accessed from anywhere on the website, through a link under the useful information menu. There are currently nine different feeds available to download, ranging from new products to new digital camera deals. In addition, Laskys also has a high level overview and explanation of RSS, as well as recommended RSS readers. Subscribers of the RSS feeds will no longer need to navigate to the Laskys website, but will be able to view a list of new products in their RSS reader or Internet browser, and will allow them to get to the product details in one click.

Thomas continued, “The latest trends on the Internet are changing significantly, and this is a further step to engage and understand the modern day shopper. Hopefully, customers will be interested enough in Laskys to return when they see a desired product added to their feeds as a new deal. The web industry is talking a lot about Web 2.0, and we want to be as involved in the transformation as possible”.
