13 November 2003 - Uxbridge, Middlesex: Axway, a specialist in application integration and system management software, today announced that direct home shopping company, JD Williams, has selected its XFB (aXway File Broker) integration solution to streamline its invoicing process, and enable e-business collaboration between trading partners.
Phillip Pollitt, operations services manager at JD Williams, commented: “Axway’s XFB will replace the manual process of using “hard” tape media to transfer data between our OS/390 mainframe and NT servers in different facilities in the Manchester area. The solution will remove the need for daily couriers between the sites, ensure data is delivered securely, and speed up the processing of invoices to our two million customers.”
The software will also be used to provide e-business connections with trading partners including the Early Learning Centre, for whom JD Williams provides warehousing, delivery and logistics services. XFB will form the backbone of integration between its OS/390 MVS mainframe and the range of IT infrastructures used at these trading partners.
Martin Stern, managing director of Axway UK and Ireland, said: “With an increase in e-business trading, organisations are continuously facing new integration challenges in order to deliver a high quality and competitive service. XFB is an application integration system which is simple to install, configure and maintain. It does not require software installation, licensing, training or maintenance at remote sites, and can typically provide a working integration solution in a fraction of the time, effort and cost of other technologies. This combination of simplicity, cost-efficiency and rapid ROI delivers precisely what is required by companies like JD Williams.”
