HP Suffer Major Server Failure

Added: (Tue Dec 19 2006)

HP have a major server failure since Monday 18 Dec 06 to currently unresolved
That means they can not fulfil any warranty replacements for faulty items this includes Printers, PC's and servers.

So anyone with a warranty or an extended warranty will be unable to get it repaired or replaced, they have no manual system.

I have a printer for one of my customers and HP have told me that there is no way this will get replaced until they can get their systems working again, this causes my customer with a difficult dilemma as he runs a small business and needs to produce paperwork over the Christmas period, the only option he has is to buy a new printer which he will not be reimbursed the cost of.

A company the size of HP should not have a single point of failure for such a critical business application and no manual process to deal with any interim issues, for a market leader like HP this is outrageous

They claim to be:
#1 globally in total server revenue and shipments
#3 globally in IT services
(information from HP Website)

The information of not being able to complete any replacement services is from the HP UK Customer Support Team, the highest point you can escalate to in the UK and has been confirmed by their press office this afternoon, they are unable to give any time scale for the server being working again.
