Free News Feed for Scientists and Engineers

Added: (Thu Oct 07 2004)

Scientists and engineers can now display live instrumentation news in their web pages. Alternatively, the news can be delivered by e-mail, viewed in a news aggregator or shown in a "ticker" on the PC's desktop. This is a completely free service. The news is selected by human editors and so is guaranteed relevant to the data acquisition, control, measurement and instrumentation fields.

To show the headlines on their own web pages, users simply need to copy a few lines of javascript code which is given at http://www.windmill.co.uk/newsfeed.html. To view by other means they need to grab the RSS file at http://www.windmillsoft.com/monitor.xml. RSS is a standard format for storing news headlines and summaries.

Typical topics include: new products, measurement and control exhibitions, instrumentation book releases and the latest Excel interfacing tips.
