EXPWAY launches V3 of FastESG™ MobileTV Platform

Barcelona (Spain), 12 February 2007 – EXPWAY of France, a leading provider of electronic service guides (ESG), has launched FastESG™ V3 – the third release of its MobileTV platform for mobile communications network and broadcast operators deploying MobileTV services – at the 3GSM trade show in Barcelona.
“FastESG™ V3 helps operators to generate revenue opportunities through SMS traffic or cross-selling with cellular network websites by enabling converged services over DVB-H & 3G networks,” says Antoine Weil, CEO of EXPWAY. FastESG™ V3 provides operators with a full platform solution for designing, managing and delivering ESGs, as well as interactive and datacasting services that are compliant with DVB-IPDC standards. A simple and intuitive Authoring Tool gives mobile network operators and broadcasters the ability to edit their ESG, design interactive services (such as voting, betting, quiz or advertising insertions) and create datacasting services (non-linear audio-video services, such as podcasts or videocasts) to be broadcast alongside the live A/V content.
The FastESG™ MobileTV Platform also takes care of aggregating and partitioning services in order to allow multiple operators to broadcast their own ESG over the same broadcast network. It interfaces with CAS and CMS systems to generate service bundles and, finally, delivers the services over either a broadcast (DVB-H) or cellular network (3G), depending on the operator’s strategy. All services are supported by a Usage Monitoring function, providing operators with a valuable tool for generating usage reports that measure the services’ audience, as well as key usage patterns of deployed services.
The FastESG™ MobileTV Platform is already being commercially deployed by 3 Italia, Telecom Italia and Vodafone Italy and is interoperable with DVB-H handsets such as Samsung, LG, Sagem, Nokia and Onda.
