Computer recycler invites companies to swap their skip for a certificate

Added: (Tue Mar 27 2007)

Pressbox (Press Release) - Award-winning computer recycler Maxitech.biz is asking companies, councils and organisations to get rid of their skips and instead dispose of their IT equipment responsibly.

Those responding to the not-for-profit social enterprise’s request by recycling their IT equipment via Maxitech.biz will be sent a certificate, to prove that they now have an ethical approach to computer recycling, in accordance with the requirements of the forthcoming EU Waste Electrical and Electronic Equipment (WEEE) Directive.

“All too often we hear of companies still putting their old computers into a skip instead of investigating how they can be recycled and reused,” says Maxitech.biz managing director Peter Paduh, named Young Entrepreneur of the Year at the London Business Awards 2005.

“This is a real nonsense as redundant IT can become an opportunity - which is why we resell refurbished equipment to fund an Edge Award-winning IT training programme, which has already seen over 200 unemployed people find their way into full-time employment.”

More details on Maxitech.biz’s work can be found at the website www.maxitech.biz, or alternatively those wishing to swap their skip for a certificate can find out more and get a quotation for the disposal of their redundant IT equipment by ringing 0870 199 5010.
