London, 22nd May 2001 - - - Access conferences International announces its first Broadcasting Football conference to be held at Chelsea Village, London on the 2nd and 3rd August 2001.

The two-day event is designed to provide sports broadcasters, football executives and technology gurus with advice on how to integrate future technologies to increase brand awareness, maximise profitability and fuel new revenue streams.

Chaired by Rogan Taylor, Director of the Football Research Unit, University of Liverpool on day one and by Chelsea Village Chairman, Ken Bates on day two, the conference comes with the support of five official media sponsors, including New Media Markets, Soccer Investor, Sports and Character Licensing, Sports Marketing and TV Sports Markets.

Issues such as creating new media partnerships, leveraging football sponsorship, enlarging revenue streams across multiple platforms and the realisation of virtual advertising potential will be addressed through insightful case studies and in-depth presentations from the speakers panel.

Highlights of the conference will include a joint case study by Steve Cooke, Director of Online, HotGen Studios and Andrew Evans, Games Development Manager, BSkyB, who will share with the audience their experience in launching Sky Sports Football Manager, a global premium-branded entertainment service, set to be the world’s largest networked sports game.

Other presentations include a case study by Adam Rhodes, Chief Executive, Liverpoolfc.tv, on preparing the field for the convergence of New Media, plus a presentation by Grupo Sogecable exploring strategies for broadcasting ‘La Liga’ to a Global Audience.

The digital television revolution has acted as a catalyst for the business of football. New media diversification and converging technologies have created many new avenues for mass-market penetration.
