Pressbox (Press Release) - New Jersey, March 26, 2002 – Atinav Inc. (www.atinav.com), a provider of universal Internet access and communications applications for the digital economy, today launched aveLink UPnP Protocol Stack and Development Platform for ANSI C, a software technology that enables developers to quickly and easily create UPnP solutions for embedded systems such as phones, web pads, control devices, residential gateways.

Atinav’s UPnP Protocol Stack and Development Platform for ANSI C is a highly optimized implementation in ANSI C that consists of an UPnP Device SDK and UPnP Control Point SDK. The flexible and versatile design of aveLink’s UPnP Protocol Stack Operating System Abstraction Layer allows easy porting of the stack to any operating system.

Atinav’s UPnP Protocol Stack and Development Platform provides developers the tools they need to develop complete UPnP solutions. It contains an Application Programming Interface that abstracts details of the core UPnP protocols. This enables developers to quickly create applications without the need to know the underlying complexities of UPnP mechanisms for XML Parser, SSDP, GENA and SOAP. The SDK enables all facets of UPnP, namely Discovery, Description, Control, Eventing and Presentation.

“Using Atinav’s experience in developing leading edge solutions, we have developed a product that is an excellent implementation of this new standard”, said Rajesh Ravindranath, VP of Emerging Technologies, Atinav. “Our knowledge of integrating various device technologies will provide customers with the ability to take advantage of many standards in one tightly integrated solution.”

Ravindranath added: “According to industry analyst group IDC, unit shipments for non-PC, network-enabled devices will reach $44 billion by 2005. Additionally, analyst group Forrester Research forecasts the market for Internet devices to expand to 16 billion devices deployed moving from 2001-2010. This is a tremendous opportunity for Atinav.”

Atinav’s UPnP Protocol Stack and Development Platform for ANSI C comes with full API documentation, as well as manuals describing the process of building UPnP devices and control points. The manuals are supplemented by working example code including sample devices and sample control points. A trial version is available at www.atinav.com/download.htm
