O’Connell, a former USAF Captain, brings 15 years of MTB experience from all over the world. Gervasi, a former motorcycle roadracer, has 2 years of road cycling to his credit, and will be a novice to the mountain biking ranks. Assisting with wrenching duties will be mechanic Joe Guzzo, who has a wealth of technical knowledge. These men bring a variety of diverse skills and experience that will be relative and significant to their racing program for 2007.
"The team believes it has assembled an exciting and enthusiastic platform for 2007, based on hard work, efficient planning, and the goal of having fun at each event we compete in.” said a p9 SportsGroup spokesman.
For the 2007 season, EdgeCrusher Racing welcomes the addition of Product Sponsor, Galfer Brakes. In a way, it is a reunion for the p9 SportsGroup, as Galfer was a long-time sponsor of p9 MotorSports, a motorcycle roadrace team that competed from 1991 to 2003 under the p9 SportsGroup banner. Galfer is a leader in braking technology and a proven winner in various forms of powersports. “Having Galfer’s top quality products and support, means peace of mind and trouble free operation for our racing season.”
The team also ushers in new product support associate, Kenda Tires. Kenda makes quality rubber for all types of bicycles. “We are really looking forward to riding on Kenda’s best. We’re confident that our partnerships will provide us the flexibility and resources needed to pursue our steadfast ambition towards the reality of competing."
"Our riders and team members share similar values; we strive to put
our sponsors first and we are committed to improving our skills and experience. Together, we seem to be a good mix, presenting a well rounded package for our team and supporters.” While we are charged up by the approaching season, we also realize that this will be a learning year for our rookie team, and welcome whatever comes our way.”
