Woodstock, ON – FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE – Can-Am is pleased to announce the Home Hardware Wind Rider Challenge Finals. Entry spots are filling fast and the prizes are huge! The Canadian Finals will be held in March at the 8th Annual Can-Am All Breeds Equine Emporium, where the prizes will total over $15,000.00!
The winner of that event will represent Canada at the Midwest Horse Fair, held in Wisconsin, U.S.A, the following April, for the title of "Most Versatile Horse in North America".
History will be made in Madison, Wisconsin, April 2010 when, for the first time ever, two prestigious equine expositions, the Can-Am All Breeds Equine Emporium and the Midwest Horse Fair, partner to produce The North American Wind Rider Challenge, presented by Bob Jeffreys & Suzanne Sheppard.
In this fierce international, cross disciplinary competition, the Canadian Home Hardware Wind Rider Champion will face the Midwest Horse Fair Wind Rider Champion and battle it out for the title of North American Wind Rider Champion and thousands of dollars in cash and prizes.
"As we travel across the US and Canada teaching people to bring out the best in their horses, we meet so many extraordinarily versatile horse/rider teams that we were inspired to create our Wind Rider Challenge," says Bob Jeffreys. Suzanne Sheppard adds, "With the North American Wind Rider Showdown the breath-taking skills of these champion horse lovers and their trusty mounts will inspire thousands of fans across the border to challenge themselves and their horses to work together and develop their own versatility. Between taking on the toughest cross disciplinary course yet and then riding their outrageous musical freestyles, this is going to be mind blowing! After all, when it comes to the best partnership with your horse, there are no borders!" For more information, visit http://www.TwoasOneHorsemanship.com.
Rhonda Reese of the Midwest Horse Fair explains, "We are very excited to be bringing the Wind Rider Equestrian Challenge to the Midwest Horse Fair® in 2010 because it is a fantastic opportunity to showcase the amazing and talented horses and riders we have here in the Midwest. It is such a unique opportunity because the Wind Rider Challenge does not focus on any one breed or particular discipline, but is open to all horses and their riders. This should appeal to any horse owner or those who just love horses. An additional benefit is being able to welcome the winner of Can-Am’s Home Hardware Wind Rider Challenge to the Midwest Horse Fair®. While there is some competition involved, we hope the North American Championship will introduce our spectators to a whole new level of horsemanship and be a bridge for future partnerships."
The Midwest Horse Fair® is one of the largest equine expos in the United States, with over 600 horses participating and 52,000 spectators during the three day event. Over 500 exhibitors offer unique shopping and educational opportunities for horse lovers and owners. There are hundreds of clinics, seminars and events that feature top horse professionals from allover the country. In recognition of the 2010 World Equestrian Games coming to the United States for the first time ever, the theme of the 2010 Midwest Horse Fair® will be: "Let the Games Begin." Today’s rider is looking for a gateway to multi-disciplinary challenges and this type of competition heightens the interest to expand on one’s equine experiences." He goes on to say, "The opportunity of a Canadian expo, such as Can-Am and an American counterpart such as the Midwest Horse Fair working together to recognize the importance of equine versatility is incredible! This is the first time two major horse expos in two countries are working together to promote versatility and horsemanship. Together, we have created a format to have the top horse and rider in Canada compete head to head with the top horse and rider in the Unites States. It will be exciting, to say the least!"
