UK's First Public Disc Golf Course To Open In Ealing
Members of the Bongos Disc Sports Club of West London are celebrating today after receiving a grant of £5000 from the National Lottery's Awards for All programme.
The grant will allow the installation of a public disc golf course in the London borough of Ealing. It will benefit locals and visitors alike. One of the advantages of disc golf is its relative simplicity and its appeal to both sexes, all ages and to players of all abilities.
Club spokesperson Mr Richard Sampson said "We're thrilled to receive this award today, the UK's first public disc golf course is a significant milestone. We're confident that when people see what this sport is all about, courses will be springing up all over the country."

Disc Golf…
Disc golf shares the joys and frustrations of traditional golf. Instead of using clubs to putt balls into holes, you throw specially designed flying discs, similar to Frisbees® from a tee area to a 'hole'. The hole in the case of disc golf is an elevated metal basket.. The objective is to take as few shots as possible over a course of 9, 12 or 18 different targets.
