PALO ALTO, CALIF. (Jan. 28, 2002) – Carrying the International Olympic Committee’s newfound anti-corruption torch, HotelShark will add a Salt Lake City section to its online collection of untainted, guest-written hotel reviews. Travelers may submit reviews through the Internet at http://hotelshark.com/review.htm.
Visitors to the 2002 Winter Olympic Games are encouraged to submit Salt Lake City hotel reviews.
HotelShark has earned respect for its accuracy and usefulness. Earlier this month on her nationally syndicated radio program The Travel Show, Valerie D'Elia called HotelShark “the Zagats of hotels.” Consumer Reports Travel Letter founding editor Ed Perkins praised HotelShark for its “unbiased, blurb-free hotel reviews,” adding, “HotelShark is a good idea.”
HotelShark is available free of charge on the Internet at http://www.hotelshark.com.
To preserve its objectivity, HotelShark does not participate in affiliate programs offered by Expedia, Travelocity, and other online travel agencies. Such programs generally offer websites a 5% commission on hotel reservations that they help to generate. Despite widespread participation by online travel guides, HotelShark believes that such programs create unnatural incentives to review hotels positively.
The 2002 Winter Olympic Games are set to begin in Salt Lake City on February 8.
