New website is a key part Leigh RUFC youth development

Added: (Fri Jun 19 2009)

Pressbox (Press Release) - Leigh Rugby Football Club (Leigh RUFC) Mini & Junior Section is pleased to announce the launch their new club website.

The site www.leighyouthrugby.com was launched last week and already has a considerable number of members. Boasting video and photo capability, the site will be a showcase for talent and the first port of call for the Mini & Junior Section information.

One of the main aims of the new site is to encourage online participation, with a host of features to enable members and team mates to communicate and interact in similar ways as other social networking sites such as Facebook and YouTube.

Ian Cumming, Chairperson, Mini and Junior Committee, is a huge supporter of the new technology and the role it can play:

“As one of the biggest sports and youth clubs in the Leigh district with eleven youth teams from U6s to U16s we’re trying to encourage everybody within the Mini & Junior Section and in the community to get involved – the site looks great and we’re really pleased with the level of interest it’s generated and the role it will play as part of our ongoing development and communication. But fresh content, new supporters and above all new players are always welcome!”

Future plans for the website include an online shop, SMS texting and a range of benefits for members and youth players.

The new website is just part of a series of initiatives underway this summer at Leigh RUFC. Alongside the usual preparation and training for the new season, where new players are more that welcome, other activities include three summer camps in July and August and a family fun day on 30 August. Be sure to visit www.leighyouthrugby.com to see what is going on.

The new site uses the Pitchero platform which is a free, site-builder service available to sports clubs or school teams looking for a professional online presence. For more information visit www.pitchero.com.
