Pressbox (Press Release) -
MTB Scotland (www.mountain-bike-scotland.com), sponsored by Endura and Revolution, is a new web site for mountain biking north of the border, and launched on Tuesday 21st March coinciding with the first full day of Spring.
MTB Scotland, which is run by a team of mountain bike enthusiasts on an entirely voluntary and non-commercial basis, aims to provide an impartial and comprehensive guide to mountain biking throughout Scotland, and has attracted over 100 members in its first 48 hours.
The site features everything youd expect from a portal about mountain biking, including discussion forums, photo galleries, events, product reviews, links, and the latest news. However, MTB Scotland is more than just another mountain biking site, as Editor Iain Harper explains: Scotland hasnt had a single, all-encompassing, portal for mountain biking before, but we were inspired by Phil Lees MTB-Wales.com to create one. MTB Scotland is a resource that riders of all types, of all levels of experience, and from all over the UK and overseas, can benefit from using.
Apart from the exposure we give Endura and Revolution in return for their generous support, MTB Scotland is an advertising-free-zone. You wont find any banners or pop-ups anywhere and thats how things will stay. The site is built around its content, the participation of our rapidly growing membership, and the importance we place on remaining impartial, Harper said.
Harper continued: As well as exclusive articles on riding skills and fitness from top coach and SMBLA instructor Jules Fincham, and resident fitness guru Paul Wilson, weve listed every mountain bike centre, bike shop, and mountain bike club in Scotland all completely free of charge. Plus our members can submit their own news and articles, and customise the site with their own colour scheme, menu, and blog.
MTB Scotland will be covering every major mountain bike event in Scotland over the coming months, including the official openings of the Learnie Red Rock trails on the Black isle, Carron Valley Trails near Stirling, and the Moray Monster Trails at Fochabers, plus of course the UCI Mountain Bike World Cup at Fort William in May.
