Livi fans OUTRAGED at dismissal of Liaison Manager
Added: (Fri Nov 04 2005)
Press release on behalf of LiviLions.co.uk - Livingston FC Supporters Community.
News has broken that Kay Robertson, Supporters Liaison Manager - amongst other things - has been astonishingly knifed in the back by the club she holds so dear, Livingston Football Club.
Kay was sacked by the Lionheart Consortium but will continue to go to games as her Support For Livingston remains Unwavering.
I put it to Message board Stalwart Charles Darwin to sum up how I, and many other Livi fans are feeling this evening;
"Kay stuck it out through all the shite of administration, and did an utterly outstanding job despite the hideous circumstances. This is more than just a stab in the back to one of - if not THE - best employee of Livingston FC: it's a frenzied knife attack.
I echo the sentiments of those calling for the persons responsible to hang their heads in shame
And it says a lot for Kay's reputation that she's chosen to maintain a dignified silence following such a betrayal. Kay, the Club may have no respect for you, but we sure as hell do. Thank you for everything you've done, and I'm only sorry your efforts have not been appreciated as much "upstairs"."
Selected other Quotes from the Messageboard...
"MrsLivi : Can't quite believe this?"
"LiviLion21 : Pearse, you've over stepped the mark now."
"Dov : I have a wee feeling that this is more than “Business” But Pearse will say it is.
In all my years supporting Livingston Football Club, tonight, I have never been so ashamed. I have seen all the shit that happens down at the stadium, the bar getting emptied at 7pm on a Saturday night when it is packed, we have all put up with the verbally abusive bar staff now and then, the horrendous attitude of some of the other members of staff down there.
Of course I see Kay as a friend, but who on here didn’t? A disgrace and a stab in the back."
"Demon Drawer : Pearce I thought you said before you actually took over this club that it you wanted to run it as a successful local venture. Kay has and remained one of the key ingredients in that many of my fellow fans have already expressed how Kay has made them feel not as much part of the club but almost like one of the family.
It is a sad day that someone who has done so much to humanise football in West Lothian and for this club has been treated in this way.
Kay I have no doubt that wherever you end up will be as good in that job as you have been to us fans over the years."
