Team Mirabaud sailors, Sarah Webb, Sarah Ayton and Pippa Wilson have started their Beijing Olympic campaign in earnest with a launch party hosted by sponsors Mirabaud at their offices in St. James Square, London.

A launch party for over 250 guests culminated in an auction which raised in excess of £80,000. The proceeds are to be split between, The Anthony Nolan Trust charity and the ÔTeam Mirabaud Õ.

Helm Sarah Ayton commented at the launch: "The support that Mirabaud have shown us by becoming our title sponsor is great news. We are very pleased with the commitment and support they have offered, because without it we could not compete internationally. We simply aim to repay them by winning Gold in Beijing".

Team Mirabaud is currently ranked number two in the world and are top performers in the UK. At the October ÔSail for GoldÕ regatta, Weymouth, they achieved third overall, despite having to count one maximum point disqualification.

The teamÕs world ranking number two position caps off a successful season, which includes podium positions at the Miami, Princess Sofia, Hyeres and Holland Regattas.

The team will continue their intensive training programme through the winter in the UK, leading them to their next major regatta in Miami, January 2007, a vital step in the selection process for the 2008 Games.

Sarah Ayton and Sarah Webb were two members of the Gold medal winning Yngling team at the last Olympics. Determined to win a second Gold, they invited Pippa Wilson to join them in a new, three girl team capable of winning in Beijing.

Ò'It has taken us two years to convince her to join us and we are thrilled she has decided itÕs the right move for her. We know she will bring a great deal to our team and we are really excited to get going.' stated Sarah Webb.

Pippa Wilson has a string of outstanding sailing results including
29er World and European Youth Champion, 420 National Champion, with Bronze at the 420 Worlds and a successful season in the 470 Class.
