Kangaroo Poo speed event puts West Kirby on the map

Added: (Thu Dec 08 2005)

The second Kangaroo Poo speed event took place at West Kirby this weekend (3/4th Dec). More than 20 competitors took part over the two days, which considering the time of year and the weather was a pretty good turnout. Radar and GPS times were taken throughout the weekend.

Saturday turned out to be the best of the two days with a 45 minute window for some impressive speeds in spite of a wind speed of only 18-20 knots. Winner on Saturday was Windy John with 32 knots, with his wife Jane taking the spoils for the ladies. Four juniors turned out some impressive speeds, the winner Jay Gwynn along with Sam Neal (Animal, Neilpryde, JP) producing a fantastic speeds in excess of 25knots.

Sunday produced light winds for most of the day but this didn’t put the competitors off, Mark Hayford winning the day for big kit fans with an impressive 24.5 knots. Jay Gwynn and Sam Neal came first for the juniors with 22 knots. West Kirby is an awesome venue and the speeds produced show the raw potential of this venue.

A massive thanks to Boardwise, Thommen1 and Fibrespar for their support.

We are planning another event for March
