JENSON BUTTON F1 CHAMPION FROM HUMBLE GO-KARTING ROOTS
Added: (Tue Oct 20 2009)
Jenson Button’s success can be attributed to hard work and a determination to succeed but natural talent cannot be ignored. This world champion was racing around a go kart circuit when most of his friends hadn’t even heard of karting. At his very first race outing at his local kart track he started at the back of the grid but then maneuvered through the opposition to take the chequered flag such was his drive to succeed.
No one can claim that his life has been charmed. He had it tough as a youngster when his parents split up when he was only 7 years old and he did not have a pot of gold to lavish on his pastime. But his dad decided to give his son the opportunity of pursuing a motor sports career and Jenson responded with enthusiasm and dedication to the task at hand.
So how did he succeed where so many try and fail? Well a natural talent, determination and hard work have been covered but for the rest of the story you need to look at the fact that the UK is unique in the fact that is has so many karting tracks that open their doors to kids as young as 8 years old and in some cases even younger.
It is well established facts that if you expose your children to sports and activities at a young age they will learn to love the experience and in some cases go on to achieve great things. Karting circuits offer a huge variety of formats for the racing enthusiast and many provide ‘karting parties’ so that birthdays and other celebrations can be held at a karting track on an exclusive basis.
Karting Nation, the UK’s biggest network of karting circuits, book hundreds of kids into karting events every week up and down the country.
“This country has a huge numbers of karting circuits, both outdoor and indoor,” said Rebecca, the company’s Sales Manager,” We have best of them on our network. Jenson Button, like Lewis Hamilton had the advantage of access to tracks up and down the country to hone their skills on their way to the top. Many countries only have tracks for an annual event of motor sports so we are very lucky here. Like Lewis and Jenson a future champion will show their potential very early on. The thrill of the sport itself does the rest. To book a karting session is pretty easy with Karting Nation. Just visit www.karting-nation.co.uk and check out the nearest circuit. You won’t have to travel far as our network of karting tracks extends from Scotland to the very southern tip of the country as well as circuits in Ireland.”
So we can now boast two successive British F1 world champions. But this is not the end of the tale. There is another generation training hard to join them. Does you child have a talent in motor sports? Check out your local go karting track and get them booked in.
