In Football Sometimes Fantasy is Better Than Reality
Fri April 05 2002, London
So you can’t get to Japan and Korea this summer? You’re not even certain if we can triumph? Don’t worry; you can still win because with football sometimes the fantasy is better than the reality. To help you a new fantasy football website for the 2002 World Cup has just been launched by Thoughtbubble Ltd, www.WorldCupFantasyFooty.com. The site is free to enter and offers registered users the chance of winning cash prizes by predicting the scores and scorers of all the matches in this summers World Cup.
“There are several unique aspects to this site, the first being that the playability of the game is scalable.” Said Andy Ewings, Technical Director. “So, whether you have no previous knowledge of football or are a hard-core footy fan you can play the game with ease and to your own level.” Unlike previous fantasy football sites you don’t have to pick players from all the teams, instead you simply choose the score for each match and who the scorers are. If you know your football, there are other ways to increase your points, such as “Golden Boot” and “Golden Goal” sub-competitions, that will be launched when the tournament starts.
www.WorldCupFantsyFooty.com contains up-to-date world cup news, a message forum and a Mini League component of the site that allows teams of friends or offices to play with each other or against other teams. There is also a mascot, Tezza, who is used to assist users and who will be writing a weblog in the near future.
During the lead up, and as the World Cup starts, WorldCupFantasyFooty will roll out other features. These will include a “Live Chat Forum”, “Guessing the England Squad”, “Red/Yellow Cards”, “Team and Player Stats”, “League Tables” (for both users and Mini Leagues) and a selection of online mini-games.
If you register and pick your scores before the 31st of May you get bonus points, so don’t delay visit: http://www.worldcupfantasyfooty.com
