I can see no reason why Lissycasey Punch is twice the price of Kylegrove Top in the 9.10 having not been unfancied against his rival in an opening round heat of the Steel City Cup a fortnight ago. While Elaine Parker’s local hope could not get a blow in that day after early trouble, he had earlier clocked a decent time over the trip and looks over priced.

Short priced favourite Boherna On Air, just in front of Blonde Dino when second in a three edged finish to the Midland Gold Cup, can utilise his early speed to quickly wrap things up in the 9.25, while Commander Chief looks even stronger to land the odds in the 8.35. Laurence Tuffin’s dog has enjoyed an impressive, if frustrating year with runners-up spots in three major finals, including the recent Gold Collar, but has turned a spate of near misses into a hat trick of recent victories and should have little trouble obliging again.
