Pressbox (Press Release) - Who wouldn’t love the sound of the crisp snowy ramp kissing the backboard of your ride as you flip in the vertical ramp and let loose all your adrenaline rush for that one final stunt that everyone is waiting for. That is what Gretchen Bleiler does. It’s more like a show for her. Curtains open, curtains close. In the halfpipe, it’s her own world, where she always dominated it for her entire career. No wonder people always call her Madonna of snowboarding, Gwen Estefani and other prominent femme fatale that we know nowadays.

She’s just that good. In the competition, she unleashes her some sort of aura that lit up the whole crowd on frenzy by her graceful aerial tricks and jaw-dropping back flip. But off the halfpipe, her personality is going to melt your hearts like M&Ms. A typical girl next door appearance wearing that killer smile of hers that you might remember at the of the day. That’s her, Gretchen Bleiler, the top female snowboarder from Aspen, Colorado. I just can’t believe to hear that when she was 10, she got into snowboarding because it just so happens that her physical education class is and of course, snowboarding. From there, she learn the ropes and she got hooked up on the sport, not to mention her three siblings was also at that time, fancies snowboarding. She learned from them, and they motivated her as if she was a brother to them and that’s not an understatement.

Eventually with all those things she learned during her time as a rookie snowboarder, she had this little dream she wants to achieve when she grow up. What is that? It’s to become a participant to the Winter Olympics. And wouldn’t you know it? After she jumped in Aspen Snowboarding Team at the tender age of 15 and later experienced the hype of snowboarding competitions. She joined many of those and sooner or later, she became famous, not because of her dazzling looks, well you can put that in, but her god-given talent to glide the halfpipe as if demon-possessed, from which of course, the fans loved and adored.

Media swarmed her like killer bees and was quickly lived up to her prominent expectations. But that’s not it; Gretchen didn’t stop her accomplishments there. At 2006 Winter Olympics at Turin, Italy, her dream has paid its mark by completing her conquest to dominate the Winter Olympics, snagging her first silver medal which left her overwhelmed by her feat.

Truly, dreams are just dreams, but in Gretchen’s case, the dream she holds on for so long, has come to her grasp and she took it, literally. Inspiring some of us that if you want something, you have to go get it, whatever the cost; you just have to persevere and determined enough to make it a reality.
