Get Your mind in Training for 2002Get Your mind in Training for 2002

Added: (Wed Dec 19 2001)

Pressbox (Press Release) - There is no doubt that an active mind is a healthy mind, which is why the Campaign for Learning has been asking Britain’s top sports personalities to make a New Year’s Learning Resolution to get their brains in training as well as their bodies.

Ex-England Rugby captain turned commentator, Bill Beaumont has pledged to try and become fluent in French, this should help him when trying to pronounce the names of the French rugby players correctly.

In the field of athletics, some of our 2000 Olympic medallists are first off the blocks when it came to making their learning resolutions. Linford Christie, who now coaches many of the new stars, wants to learn to use e-mail more instead of relying on his mobile phone. Bronze medallist Kelly Holmes has pledged to learn how to plan her time better to avoid rushing around all the time, she does enough of that on the track.

Katherine Merry’s fiancé is French, although after three year’s she still can’t speak his language. The Campaign for Learning’s New Year’s Resolution Campaign has given her the motivation she needed to get started.

Whether your dream is to start your own business, re-design the garden or sing in a choir now is the perfect time to start. You might have always wanted to make your own clothes, play the piano or learn a language for your holidays. Learning could be the passport to fulfilling your dreams in 2002 and it need not involve a formal course. Informal learning though reading, television programmes or simply asking a friend for advice can be just as effective for achieving your Learning Resolution.

To help you realise your learning dream the Campaign for Learning is giving away £350. To enter the prize draw visit the Campaign’s website at www.campaign-for-learning.org.uk and make your learning pledge, you could be one step nearer your learning goal that could change your life for the better.
