Pressbox (Press Release) - Local man, John Gregory, prepares to run the Brighton Marathon 2012 for the NSPCC

John Gregory, an Administrator from Dulwich, London, is taking part in the Brighton Marathon 2012 for the NSPCC – the UK’s leading child protection charity.

This fantastic event will involve running a 26.2 mile course which stretches around the best of the city centre including Brighton Pavilion and fabulous stretches of coastal road, including panoramic views that you'd expect where the glorious South Downs meet the English Channel.

John Gregory explains why he is taking part in the event:

“The NSPCC is a charity which has always been close to my heart, they do an amazing job towards ending child cruelty and it will be a great pleasure to run the marathon for them. I do have a desire to test the limits of my own endurance and it is the work of the NSPCC that has been the motivator during my training so far and will be a major factor in getting me through the tough points of the race to the finish.”

The money raised from this challenge will support the NSPCC’s work to end cruelty to children. Our services provide help and support for children, young people and their families. In turn, they inform and illustrate our campaigning, lobbying and public education activity.

Our helpline services include the NSPCC Helpline for adults with concerns about a child or young person and ChildLine, the confidential 24-hour service for children and young people.

If you feel you could sponsor or support John in any way, please contact him on 07581 534 113, or by email at jmgr73@gmail.com. If you would like to get involved in a fundraising event for NSPCC, please call 020 7825 2621
