Ecstatic win by Badshahs over the Hyderabad Heroes!

Added: (Fri Mar 14 2008)

Pressbox (Press Release) - With what is being seen as a one-sided match all through by everyone, the Lahore Badshahs have achieved an easy win over Hyderabad Heroes by 9 wickets. The credit goes equally to the batsmen who kept strike as well as the bowlers who did not let the Heroes settle on the pitch.

With a nice and hard pitch which was on offer, the team who won the toss was expected to take up batting first and Hyderabad Heroes exactly did the same. Anirudh Singh and Maher came out to open the innings but could not stay on field for long. Only after the loss of 4 wickets, Boje came out to bat and held the strike for some time and scored an unbeaten 33. Except for Boje and Razzaq who scored 10 runs, no other player managed to reach the double figures. The total score set for the Lahore Badshahs was a skimpy 86.

After a firing round of bowling by Azhar Mahmood who took 5 wickets for 13 and other bowlers to back him up, the batsmen came out to take on the Heroes with full force. The innings started with a boundary but only two balls later, the striker Imran Farhat was sent back to the pavilion by Razzaq. But after this, there was simply no looking back. Imran Nazir and Humayun Farhat rotated the strike well and scored 62 and 18 runs respectively. These two young batsmen led the Lahore Badshahs to an easy win over the Heroes. A few chances came in the hands of the Heroes to get these two players out but to no avail.

Azhar Mahmood and Imran Nazir were awarded Man of the Match for their extraordinary performance and the captain rightly thanked the bowlers for their superb performance in the match!
