Cheltenham betting should hit new records at Coral.co.uk

Leading bookmaker Coral (http://www.coral.co.uk) is predicting that a record breaking 500 million pounds will be wagered over the four days of the forthcoming Cheltenham festival.
Ante post turnover on the Festival is down over a third a fact that Coral attributes to the injuries to high profile horses that put punters off ante post betting and the loss of some key trial meetings to abandonments.
"The build up to this year's Festival has been very subdued but we have seen record levels of bets since introducing non-runner no-bet last Monday, and are bracing ourselves for an explosion in turnover from Tuesday onwards", said Simon Clare, Coral Spokesman.
All 1328 Coral betting shops will be open from 9am, with some opening at 8am, and Coral's advertised prices will be guaranteed in shops for at least fifteen minutes between 9am and 9.15am.
Coral telebet will be open at 8am and the website, www.coral.co.uk, will as usual be available 24 hours a day.
Coral's worst result in the ante post book is Iris's Gift in the Gold Cup and they already have a payout of 250,000 pounds on him. Sweet Wake is a 200,000 pound loser in the Supreme Novices Hurdle.
Coral is sponsoring the RacingUK coverage of the Festival and will be supplying betting updates to RacingUK viewers throughout the four days.
