Getting Cheltenham Festival tips can give you a stronger chance of making a profit over the four days of the meeting, with many punters likely to have a bet on the Champion Hurdle, Queen Mother Champion Chase, World Hurdle and Gold Cup.
While there are 27 races, these are the principal races for each day of the Cheltenham Festival where there are huge sums in prize money available for the horses that finish first, second and third.
The Gold Cup commands the most prize money at the Cheltenham festival and many people have Kauto Star among their Cheltenham tips despite the fact that the two-time winner of this race is now 12 years of age.
The Paul Nicholls-trained charge would have to buck several trends to win at Cheltenham again in March, although a recent victory in the King George Chase demonstrated that Kauto Star is more than capable of making it a hat-trick of Gold Cup victories.
Cheltenham tips are also available for the World Hurdle where Big Buck's will be the universal pick. As with last year, the three-time winner of this three-mile contest will be odds-on to claim victory and it therefore requires a bigger stake to make a decent profit on a horse which will be many people's Cheltenham Festival banker.
The Champion Hurdle and the Queen Mother Champion Chase look a lot more open as contests, with the former race including last year's winner Hurricane Fly. He features among many people's Cheltenham tips to claim victory again, although there have been a variety of different winners over the past few years.
Many people like Cheltenham tips which feature a horse at a big price and the races where a winner could oblige at big odds include the Coral Cup, one of the Wednesday races at the Festival.
Carlito Brigante won the 2011 Coral Cup at odds of 16/1 while there have also been 14/1 winners in the past three years. The RSA Chase on the same day has also seen a double figure odds winner in the past couple of years so the Cheltenham Festival is very much about looking outside the favourite in many races.
