Added: (Sun Jun 10 2007)

Pressbox (Press Release) - Four keen golfers, Paul, Neil and Andrew Hart and Dewi Morris, will attempt to play 18 holes at each of the highest golf courses in Scotland, England and Wales within 24 hours starting on Saturday June 16th 2007 aiming to raise 10,000 in aid of Cancer Research UK.

The team will tee off from the first tee at Leadhills Golf Club (1500 ft) in Lanarkshire on the evening of Saturday June 16th before driving 300 miles south overnight to Kington Golf Club (1280 ft) in Herefordshire for a sunrise tee time. After a fast bacon roll and mug of tea, the fourball will travel on to the highest course in Britain, West Monmouthshire Golf Club (1518 ft) in the Brecon Beacons for the final round of the challenge, hopefully finishing with time to spare for the 19th hole

Every year my family competes for the Hart Masters to win a small trophy and a masters jacket. We just decided to make it a bigger challenge and raise funds for Cancer Research along the way, said Paul Hart. We all know friends and loved ones whose lives and families have been impacted by cancer. The 3peaksgolf challenge was something we could do to help more people get some good news,

Jacqui Harrington, Area Volunteer Manager, Cancer Research UK commented
I am absolutely thrilled that Paul, Neil, Andy and Dewi are raising money for Cancer Research UK in this wonderfully unique, challenging and inspiring way. I cannot thank them enough for their support and enthusiasm, and I wish them all the very best of luck in completing these three courses in the 24 hours.

Support such as this is invaluable in not only raising awareness but also much needed funds that will go toward the lifesaving research carried out by our team of world class scientists, doctors and nurses. This research improves the lives of all cancer patients, so please help and support them in this challenge.

The 3peaksgolf challenge website is at www.3peaksgolf.com with a link to www.Justgiving.com/3peaksgolf for online donations. The team aim to continue raising funds with a charity auction of all donated goods, services and promises from sponsors later in the summer.
