Black Belt for Mark

Added: (Wed Apr 29 2009)

Pressbox (Press Release) - Mark Freeman has achieved his black belt in Taekwondo despite missing half his right arm.

Mark has trained at the Wirral OTC for the past 4 years and has rarely missed a lesson. Taekwondo has not only improved his fitness but also boosted his self confidence. Getting his black belt has been a significant achievement. Mark is now eager to take on the role of assistant instructor at OTC.

"Mark was quiet shy when I first met him. I thought he was outstanding at his patterns but he just didn't see it. Now he has his black belt, the change in him is wonderful. He finally believes in himself." said fellow club member Jan. This sentiment was echoed by other club members.

Having lost the lower section of his right arm in an accident some years ago, Mark has struggled with his self esteem since then. Taekwondo gave him a purpose and the club gives him an extended family. Mark had to overcome a lot of self doubt to even consider doing his black belt grading. All at OTC want to say how proud they are of Mark. They are looking forward to him helping teach them and future club members. Congratulations Mark.

OTC will be looking to recruit potential future black belts over the coming months. If you are interested in joining this prestigious team then contact Carl via the website at http://www.olympictaekwondocentre.co.uk
