Australian Open Thrills Fans

Added: (Wed Jan 18 2012)

Pressbox (Press Release) - Tennis fans from all over the world need not wait any longer as they will very soon witness their favorite players compete in the 2012 Australian Open. Just very recently, the 2012 Australian Open Qualifying draw had been released carrying the names of up-and-coming players and former stars.

Among the names resounding in the qualifier is the world’s 99th –ranked player, Go Soeda from Japan. He made it to the finals of the ATP Chennai though he lost to Tipsarevic. Though Soeda is only 27 years old, his Grand Slam performance is considered not very common especially among his age group. He is also expected to make it to the main event.

Tennis fans will also have to watch out for Robbie Ginepri. At the moment, the tennis icon is only ranked 315th in the tour, from previously being ranked 15th. He made it to the semifinals during the 2005 US Open.

Another player to be expected at the 2012 Australian Open is Igor Andreev who has already been in eight Australian Opens since 2004. For Andreev to maintain his status, he has to be victorious in three matches as he is now ranked 114th.

A 35-year-old German, Rainier Schuettler, is also among those to compete for the tennis title. It can be recalled that Schuettler was the victim of Andre Agassi during the 2003 championship match. He is currently being ranked 131st in the world.

Arnaud Clement, with a record of 54 Grand Slam main draws, will also be seen at this year’s tournament.

Javier Marti, perhaps the youngest player in the tournament, will be trying his luck on the hard court. Since this will be his first time on the Melbourne Park, he will have to do his best and get acquainted with the cemented court.

Ranked 121st in the world, Vasek Pospisil will also be trying his fist time on the Melbourne Park.

As for the Women’s Qualifiers, Laura Robson will play with Melanie Oudin and Naomi Broady against Ashley Weinhold on Thursday. Oudin is 33 ranks lower than Robson, ranking 166th in the world.

“I’ve been lucky enough to get wildcards into Wimbledon for the last few years, but hopefully I won’t need one this year. I’m going to play qualifying here and hopefully I’ll do well,” said Robson.

This year’s Australian Open is seen to be filled with thrill and fun as the best players in the world are going to clash for that one, prestigious title. But, of course, each of these icons will be having his own preparations and tactics to use against the opponents.

And if watching at home is not going to be enough and will not bring thrill, then watching it live will do the trick. This is the best time to get payday advance loan if the need for extra cash arises.
