Valentine’s Day 2004 sees the official launch of HitMissorMaybe.com - the brand new website that will turn everyday flirting into a no-holds-barred dating frenzy.
HitMissorMaybe.com is NOT a dating agency. We don’t try to find ‘suitable matches’ who we feel fulfill our ‘compatibility criteria’. We let people know the score about the people they already have their eye on. Because at the end of the day, everyone already knows who they like, the only question is what do they think of me?
The answer could be deceptively simple:
• Once we have received your details and your registration has been confirmed, you will have your own homepage within the site.
• In this homepage, simply enter the email addresses of the one(s) upon whom your eye rests, and how much (you will be given a number of ‘intentions’ options, ranging from ‘Just curious’ to ‘Ships that pass in the night’ to ‘Heartfelt passion’).
• If anyone on your wish list has logged onto the site and expressed an interest in you, both parties will be notified by a discreet email.
• From there, it’s up to you…
Up to you? It certainly has been. Within two days of going live, and with no official press launch, the site received nearly 20,000 hits. Shocked by the level of word-of-mouth demand, the site’s creators have decided to move their future expansion plans forward. These include the ability to match people by phone number as well as email address (to be available from Monday 16th February); a section dedicated to gift ideas for him and her; suggestions for what to do on those all-important first dates; and dating, love and sex advice from leading experts. And everything in the homepage is tailored to reflect the age and interests of the individual member.
This is a site that has the potential to blow the lid off the simmering sexual tension that exists in every office; turn schoolkid crushes into young love; and chance meetings into new relationships. It could even make coming out that little bit easier. Once word gets around that people could know for sure what all their daydream dates really think about them, this could well be the website hit of 2004.
For what could be more ageless, genderless, cross-cultural and inclusive than fancying the pants off someone?
