UK Charities and Good Causes Can Maximise Online Fundraising With
New Shopping Reward Site
igive2 - first UK site to turn online shopping rewards into donations from registered supporters:
seeks to partner with good causes
A new shopping reward website has been launched in the UK, to allow marketing and fund raising managers of charities, schools and good causes to maximise their potential to raise funds online for free, and at no extra cost to their supporters. The site, igive2.co.uk, is the first of its kind to strongly support charities and good causes in the UK and is seeking partners.
Once a shopper has registered with igive2 as a supporter of a member charity or good cause, every online purchase they make via igive2 will generate a donation, varying from 1% - 20% of the purchase price, depending on the individual retailer. Generous donations are also made when a shopper applies for financial products, registers with gaming sites or simply agrees to receive a company’s newsletter.
Debenhams, Boots, WH Smith, Woolworths, Laura Ashley, John Lewis, Comet, Argos, Thomas Cook and Tesco are just some of the hundreds of brand name retailers partnering with igive2 to allow shoppers to easily raise funds for charity and good causes every time they shop online.
Neil Durrant, co-founder of igive2 explained: “igive2 turns everyday online shopping into donations for charities, schools and good causes by generating funds from supporters against purchases they would have made anyway. Every time an online shopper is directed to a store’s website from a linked site and makes a purchase, the store always pays a reward commission back to the linked website. What igive2 does is share that reward with a charity or good cause of the shopper’s choice.
“igive2 is an ideal, cost-effective online fundraising tool. The site provides a complete solution to help charitable organisation raise awareness of their activities and generate funds at no cost to themselves or their supporters.”
Unlike any other UK shopping reward site, igive2 provides full support for Gift Aid registered charities, but organisations do not have to be a registered charity in order to join igive2. The site will accept any good cause providing it is UK based, legal and working for the public good. igive2 is unique in actively promoting membership, enabling good causes to maintain a constant high profile with supporters.
igive2 works proactively on behalf of member organisations to ensure they yield ongoing donations by sending all igive2 supporters a weekly newsletter highlighting special offers and sales from retailers.
To help charities and good causes maximise revenue through igive2, the site also offers full marketing support through its marketing toolbox which includes sample flyers and adverts for member organisations to include in their offline communications to existing supporters - encouraging them to visit the organisation’s bespoke igive2 sign-up page.
igive2 also offers members assistance with press release activity, sample email and website links and provides helpful online marketing tips.
To help ensure the charitable organisations receive every possible donation, igive2 offers all supporters a unique piece of software, Rebate Catcher, which works quietly in the background of their Internet browser. If supporters forget to login to igive2 before shopping online at a participating retailer then the software recognises this and will automatically write the necessary tracking code to ensure their transaction qualifies for the appropriate donation.
To register a cause with igive2 and encourage supporters to use igive2 when they shop online, marketing and fund raising staff should visit www.igive2.co.uk and complete the enrolment form.
